Direct To Fabric Digital Print enables you to print designs on a
vast range of fabrics with unlimited colour and a level of detail
not seen before in traditional fabric printing. To learn more about
this wonderful printing technology simply refer to the following.
"Direct To Fabric" (DTF) is a digital fabric printing process
where the fabric is first pretreated with a coating specific to the
dye-stuff to be used. This is the first part of the "Fixation
Process", helping the dyes to penetrate the fabric effectively & to
minimise bleeding. Fabric is then printed using a large scale
Ink-Jet printer, then Steamed to complete the Fixation Process &
then washed to remove the Pretreatment Coating & excess Dye-stuff.
Some Fabrics require further Pretreatment such as Pre-Washing or
Pre-steaming.
Pre-Washing
For Dye Sublimation Pre-washing is only required if the fabric is sent in dirty.
Pretreatment Machine
Pre-treatment is only required for Direct To Fabric Printing. For Direct To Fabric Printing, all fabrics depending on their fibre content are coated with a "Pre-treatment" appropriate to that fabric.
Ink Jet Reactive Printer
A number of fabrics other than Polyester can be printed using Bravo's Direct To Fabric Ink jet printers. Ink jet printing is composed of microscopic droplets of high grade ink layered and scattered to simulate continuous tones producing superior colour fidelity. Used for printing Plant & Animal based fibres.
Steamer
Steaming is only required for Direct To Fabric Printing. After the
fabric has been printed, it is then fed through a steamer, set at a
certain temperature appropriate to the fabric & dye used.
Post Washing Machine
Post-washing - only required for Direct To Fabric Printing. After a
fabric has been "Steamed", it is then tested to check that the dye
has fixated correctly.
Ink Jet Disperse Printer
Bravo's Dye Sublimation is printed using wide format Ink jet
printers. Ink jet printing is composed of microscopic droplets of
high grade ink layered and scattered to simulate continuous tones
producing superior color fidelity. Used for printing Polyester fibres only.
Heat Press
Heat Pressing is a very important part of the Dye-sublimation
process and is used to impart the "print/dye" from the printed
paper & fixate it to the polyester fabric. It is also used to cure
Polyester that has been printed using Direct To Fabric Printing.
